(Tutorial)How to chain Tor (new verison)to jondo i' Window's

Post by Partbit » Wed Dec 24, 2014 8:44

This as been a major complaint of mine for some time. The loss of ability to chain tor with jondo, at least the newest version of tor anyway. This is tested in Windows 7 and I'm informed it should work on other O/S

* First download Privoxy
(http://www.privoxy.org/) unpack and install

*Open program and click Options---> Edit main config. (Notepad should open) Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the tex and add "forward-socks5 / localhost:9150 ." (without the ") save and close notepad

* Open Jondo Click Config--->Network. Check I'm forced to use a proxy, type should be set to HTTP/HTTPS, host = localhost, Port = 8118

This should hopefully allow you to run Tor over Jondo again

6 IP's is always better than 3 - everyone should implement this

Is it possible to install privoxy on the JonDo live-system?
I tried but it failed due to dependency problems.

Surprisingly, I have never tried it, but I cannot imagine why it would be a problem.

Anyway, the reason for my response:

You do not need privoxy to chain the two.

An easier method is to use "proxychains", which is already installed in JonDo Live, and "force" JonDo to open from a proxy (Tor if you like).

This will give you a JonDo exit IP.

I had not considered this but I guess you are right. Problem is, as you can see from my struggle with installing privoxy, I do not really excel in using linux command line features. Never got the hang of proxychains. I guess many people would be happy about a detailed instruction on how to chain Tor and JonDo with proxychains.

Hallo,

I have installed privoxy und configuered it as shown above.
Then i have configuered Jondo (Proxy settings).
Privoxy seems to work. I can browse the internet with Tor as well as with Jondofox (as usual).
But how can i see if it works? Should i browse with Tor Browser oder with JondoFox?

Do i have to modify tor's proxy configuration as well?
