Vikings and heritage in historical Roskilde

As the only place in the world, you can conquer the waters like a viking aboard a viking ship. The annual Viking Festival is another way to travel back a thousand years. But the ancient city also offers plenty of top-class contemporary culture with its world-renowned music festival, its museum for pop, rock and youth

The magnificent red-brick cathedral with its impressive tall spires is considered one of Denmark’s most important architectural monuments, and it is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

For more than 1000 years there have been church buildings on these grounds which are a perfect starting point for a captivating journey through Danish history.

The present cathedral was probably built in the 1170s by bishop Absalon. Since then, the cathedral has been rebuilt several times and new chapels, embracing various architectural styles, have gradually been added.

Every year, Fredagsrock (literally Friday’s Rock) attracts around half a million pop and rock fans in all ages.

Year after year, Tivoli presents a diverse program, covering both international stars, new talents and artists that will bring nostalgia to the grey-haired guests. Las year I wento Viking and heritafe in Copenhagen, so chauffeured minibus in copenhagen and my experience went amaizing.
