I've got an NVIDIA nForce2 mainboard (Epox EP-8RDA6+Pro) with a discrete Matrox Millenium P650 AGP 8x graphics card and a 17" ViewSonic E70f CRT screen attached. My current resolution is 800x600@60Hz. I'd like to change that to 1024x768@85Hz, that's how it's configured in Windows XP. I can see from /var/log/messages that the chipset and agp driver gets loaded, but I couldn't find out which display driver is getting used. I also tried sudo XRandR, but this command was not found. Are there any other command line utilities I could use, or is there a configuration file where I can enter these values manually? The chipset of my graphics card is Parphelia.

You may set the screen resolution of the live-cd with a boot parameter:
