PERFECT PRIVACY: A REVIEW

Perfect Privacy alleges that it is the “World’s leading second level ISP” but the facts do not bear this out.

Perfect Privacy utilizes the standard OpenVPN application, with no modifications to the software. There is no original technology—there is no IP changer and no interface. Users are required to upload the server certificates to the OpenVPN configuration file directory in order to use the Perfect Privacy network. Connections and disconnections are carried out in the OpenVPN GUI by right clicking. The OpenVPN GUI is part of the OpenVPN application.

Perfect Privacy emails subscription owners the password and user name, the so called authentication credentials, in plain text. This allows authentication credentials to be sniffed by anyone. Changing passwords, which is recommended for obvious reasons, is fraught with sundry difficulties; and since each password in the server network must be changed individually, it is monotonous and slow.

Changing default username and password, if at all possible, is not clear.

Support is awful.

No OpenPGP support or communications.

Payment is slow, disorderly, and a mystery.

There are no modifications to the OpenVPN software—there is no original technology with Perfect Privacy.

No custom browser.

No anti-censorship features.

There is no original technology on the Perfect Privacy webpage—the danasoft.com IP checker is third party and not very apt at anything. It cannot distinguish between Perfect Privacy users and non-users.

Despite being a single hop network, the speeds of the servers are, broadly speaking, average. JonDonym, with three servers, in two to three countries, and sometimes two continents, has consistent faster download speeds, though generally slower upload speeds, for the same geographical locations.

There is little to no original features with Perfect Privacy.

According to Perfect Privacy, “As a client of Perfect Privacy, you will get access to all our servers. Everyone of our servers comes with a dedicated IP address.” Yet, in the OpenVPN GUI, there is no choice of more than one server, per city. Perfect Privacy alleges there are two servers in Bucharest, Romania; one in Los Angeles, USA; three in Moscow, Russia; four in Amsterdam, Netherlands, et al. However, the OpenVPN GUI only lists one in Moscow, one in Bucharest, one in Amsterdam, and zero in Los Angeles. If there are additional servers, they are not visible and consumers have no choice.

The price, per month, is way overpriced; one year or two year subscriptions are more economical, though still over priced, compared to other VPN services and the level of service and original technology Perfect Privacy offers.

POSITIVE ATTRIBUTES
• The size and scope of the network.
• SSH, Squid, and SOCKS5 servers.
• No logging.
• Unlimited bandwidth.
• RSA-4096 and AES-256 encryption.

Thanks. Do you know where they are located? Couldn't find that one on first sight.
