Has anyone tried neomailbox encryption email services (Switzerland)?

I'm looking for an email service that has strong encryption and is completely anonymous (no IP address listed/recorded, etc)? Preferably, in a small country with strong privacy laws.

The Privacybox is great but has limitations.

I don't mind a fee...

Any recommendations...?

Strong encryption has to be done in your local e-mail client. If you upload your key to a mail provider, it is not secure any more. So you can use every mail provider you like.

Mostly anonymous mail providers I know are Secure-mail.biz (Romania, https://www.secure-mail.biz/ ) or Vekja.net (need Bitcoun Payment).

I don't understand German and secure-mail.biz requires java; it won't let me set up an account. Would Jondo premium service work for this?

What is the difference between secure-mail.biz and fastmail.fm?

Both (fastmail.fm and secure-mail.biz) respect your privacy and does not have a look in your mails. (Google is scanning all content of your mails)

fastmail.fm stores IP adresses and a login history for each user, secure-mail.biz does not.

secure-mail.biz uses encrypted disk space for user postboxes, fasmail.fm does not.

But if you were using JonDo for all connection to fastmail.fm and encrypt your e-mails by self you can use fastmail.fm anonymous.

Cane,

I got another question for you. In setting up Thunderbird mail, and using Jondo as the proxy, it asks for SOCKS HOST and then below that it asks for either SOCKS v4 or SOCKS v5. Following the instructions outlined on this forum, I didn't put 127.0.0.1, left the port at 0, and selected SOCKS v5.

But my question is: IS SOCKS v5 only for jondo premium service? I don't yet have the premium service and I was wondering if I can be unmasked or if Thunderbird won't route through Jondo?

Should I use SOCKS v4 instead? What's the difference?

Would most appreciate a clarification!

You have to configure Thunderbird like this: https://anonymous-proxy-servers.net/en/ ... rbird.html

And it does only work with premium services with socks support

Yes.

As above: Thunderbird is sending and receiving mails to/from JonDonym only if you are using the premium services and have your client configured properly. See the link in the previous post for a help on how to do this.

They are basically two different versions of the SOCKS protocol (5 has some more features than 4) and we have configured our cascades for using the SOCKS5 protocol.

Thanks guys for the help.

I already visited the link a few days ago; my confusion lied in this:

In Jondofox, under tools, options, advanced, network settings, manual proxy settings, the SOCKS Host is blank and the port is 0. With Thunderbird, the setup is Socks Host 127.0.0.1 (local) and port 4001. I figured since the jondofox program (non-premium) is already using SOCKS v5, there wouldn't be issue with Thunderbird (non-premium jondo).

Why the difference between jondofox and Thunderbird proxy network setup? And should a jondofox non-premium user be using SOCKS v5, since this is already a default setup?

I noticed also that with Tor proxy network configuration that they leave FTP proxy and Gopher proxy blank and for port use 0. This is the default setup. Could I add the local host for the Tor FTP proxy and Gopher proxy? What would be the advantages of doing this?

I'm learning all this...so be patient with me!

Thanks
