In case of installation problems you may use our live-cd. It contains MAT and you can use it out of the box.

Or can it be opened direct from the CD without the need to boot ?

As I have several large flies I wish to "clean" - which would require me to load them onto a USB then boot from the live CD in order for me to clean them

How is your Win 7 encrypted?

The live-cd contains Truecrypt for using of Truecrypt encrypted volumes. Start the Truecrypt GUI from "Applications -> Sytem -> Truecrypt" and mount your encryprted container.

Otherwise you may use an USB stick:

1: Copy the files to the USB stick,
2: shutdown your computer,
3: reboot with the live-cd,
4: insert the USB stick (the file manager will appear on the desktop)

5a: click with the right mouse button on the file you want to clean and choose "Remove metadata" form the context menu

5b: or open the MAT-GUI to clean the files (the "chicken" on the desktop)
