Can someone please explain what the payments are and how they work? I can't find anything that tells me what the cost (in USD) would be for say a months worth of casual browsing.

Thanks

How many USD depends how the rate is between Euro and $ at that moment you pay.

No one can know how much traffic you will generate within your month of casual browsing,so it's up to you to find out what you need.Maybe use for a while that JonDos testmix with virtual payment option.Sadly its offline right now.

The premium services list a table for different rates and it also mention the memory amount.
My question is how exactly does this memory amount works, it seems that this amount get's depleted and at the start of the month does it start from full again.
A detailed explanation with examples is much appreciated.
Thanks

We provide two kinds of premium rates:

1: Volume based rates ("S-Volume", "M-Volume", "L-Volume")
2: Montly capped flat rates for 4 month ("Medium", "Large")

Example "M-Volume" (1):

You buy a traffic volume of 1.5 GB premium traffic. If we recieve you money the account will be activated and you can use premium mix cascades. The mix cascades will count your traffic and if you used 1.5 GB your accout is empty.

By default you have up to one year to use the 1.5 GB traffic volume. If you did not not use the traffic volume within one year, you may contact us.

Example "Medium" (2):

You buy a traffic volume of max. 1.5 GB per month for 4 month. You can use up to 1.5 GB every month. If you did not use 1.5 GB in one of the 4 month but less than 1.5 GB in one month, the remaining traffic is lost. The cost of "Medium" is 3x "M-Volume". But because some traffic volume may be lost the traffic volume of "Medium" is 4x "M-Volume".

May be, you need more than your monthly traffic volume time by time. In this case you can use a "X-Volume" (1) account additional or you may use some traffic volume from the next month. This is done automatically by JonDo. A "X-Volume" account (if aviable) is prefered in this case.

Recommendation:
If you were not sure about the traffic you need, I would recommed a "M-Volume" rate first. You can see, how long it takes to use 1.5 GB and you may decide for a monthly rate later or stay with volume rates. If you did not need much premium traffic, you have a long time to use it step by step (one year).

Hint:
To avoid profiling of your usage of premium services by our payment service the mix cascades fetch the traffic volume of your account in steps of 3 MB in advance (with first connect). If you connect 10 premium mix cascades your reamining traffic volume shown by JonDo decreases by 30 MB. But the traffic volume is not lost! You can use it, be not afraid. It is stored on the entry mixes of the premium cascades.

This Volume stuff is Greek to me, first I thought max mix cascade is 3. How is it determined what or how large a traffic volume is. So being 8 hours per day on the internet how much volume could be used.

You do not need to explain the technical detail to me, the bottom line is approx. how much volume does it take if a person is on the net the whole day.

Also with premium service can I access my email without enabling script and cookies.

Thank you very much.

I would think you will need from 50 to 200 MB per day.

I am an online worker, online the whole day, and I need 2 GB per month or 60 MB per day. I use JonDonym premium services for all my email stuff, for Jabber, for web surfing....

(For large downloads like ISO images of a Linux distro or software updates I do not use JonDonym.)

But see my recommendation above. First try the "M-Volume" rate and see, how long you will need to use 1.5 GB premium traffic volumen. May be, you are using free services time by time to reduce you costs. We can not know, how much traffic you need. Try it.

Thank you much for replying.
I also like to know if there is a strategy on using premium service wisely, in other words if you go to youtube and watch videos that I would think consume traffic volume.
So a little advice on that would be nice.
Thanks again

Please have a look at our recommendations for watching Youtube videos: https://anonymous-proxy-servers.net/en/ ... ofox4.html

With JonDo and JonDoFox you have to download the video an watch it with a media player like VLC player.

To watch Flash videos in your browser you need additional protection against IP address leaks by using a proxyfier tool. See: https://anonymous-proxy-servers.net/en/ ... ifier.html

Additional you have to disable Flash cookies: https://anonymous-proxy-servers.net/en/ ... plets.html
