Bugs or Features?

Under 7.5.5.54 (based on Mozilla Firefox 52.4.0) (32-bit) With ISP's now collecting user IP addresses what will the ISP see? Assuming a premium account is used will the ISP see a Tor related IP address or a JonDo related IP address as the cascade entry point? Noticed that the browser launches very q...

Re: Jondo no longer able cascade Tor using Port 9150

I thought you might like to catch an interview between Andrew Lewman, executive director of the Tor Project and Leo Kelion. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-28886465 I noticed in one of the threads that somebody said "I don't care" with regard to the OS in use. I sense this is the attitude gener...

Re: Jondo no longer able cascade Tor using Port 9150

Reported by the BBC 7/24/2014: "Earlier this month two researchers announced plans to reveal a way to de-anonymise users of this "dark web". They were later prevented from talking. Alexander Volynkin and Michael McCord - two security experts from Carnegie Mellon University's computer emergency respo...

Re: Jondo no longer able cascade Tor using Port 9150

I think I'll stick with Tor 2.5 it's easier. I know when cascading the two first came to the forum Cane's view was that it represented paranoia plus it didn't do much to inspire confidence in Jondo. The same could be said of Tor, cascading didn't inspire confidence either. This is a very reasonable ...

Re: Jondo no longer able cascade Tor using Port 9150

Thanks guys! But I'm not so sure using HTTP/HTTPS is a good idea given these protocols have to be authenticated (they have headers) by a firewall which could block the connection? "Consider that protocols such as HTTP and Telnet support firewall authentication. Anyone who has configured Authenticate...

Jondo no longer able cascade Tor using Port 9150

I'm having trouble getting Jondofox [JDF] to cascade with Tor. The latest release of JDF connects fine with Windows Tor Bundle 2.3.25-15 when Jondo Config/Network is set to 'I'm forced to use a proxy:', Socks Proxy', localhost and port 9150 are selected. However, under Windows Tor Bundle 3.5.2.1 Jon...

Re: Jondo Fails GRC ShieldUP! Stealth Test - Ports are Unsec

I won't deny there is wisdom in what you're saying. And you just confirm what Cane has already said about VPNs. But you can't escape the fact that the Portugal mix has gone a long way to stealthing its exit nodes and the others have not. Sure your true IP may be hidden but not the content of your tr...

Re: Jondo Fails GRC ShieldUP! Stealth Test - Ports are Unsec

If you were using JonDoFox+JonDo it is probing the exit mix server and not your PC I agree, I scanned various premium exit nodes and most were revealing your web presence. Of the test sample only Oppossum-Grolsch-Transformer (Portugal) had 'all' ports stealthed except for two. Port 022 Open. (SSH R...

Re: Jondo Fails GRC ShieldUP! Stealth Test - Ports are Unsec

Cane I entirely agree with you on the use of a VPN however you normally have to subscribe to a provider and this in itself could be an anonymity issue. The previous tests were done using JDF (I don't know which version). I reinstalled it to v2.7.0 (18-09-2013) integrated into FF 24.0.The test result...

Jondo Fails GRC ShieldUP! Stealth Test - Ports are Unsecured

Gibson Research Corporation (http://www.grc.com) provide a number of free security services for testing your web presence. With a standard unsecured connection to my ISP I got a clean bill of health on all tests using Firefox 24.0 When I did the same test under Jondo (FF 24.0) it failed miserably. T...
