- Read the program help for JonDoFox which is also included in JonDo.
- Follow the hints for secure surfing.
- JonDoFox does not influence your default Firefox configuration.
- On some systems, JonDoFox needs to be started twice after installation to correctly initialise all extensions.
- Cookies are deactivated by default. By using an integrated cookie manager CSLite (in the browser down to the right) you may activate cookies for single pages.
- JavaScript is deactivated by default. By using the NoScript extension (in the browser down to the right) you may temporarily allow JavaScript for single web pages.
- Plugins are blocked by default: JonDoFox forces you to activate each Flash/Java/Silverlight application in the browser individually by clicking on it, as using these plugins may revoke your anonymity and may damage your system!
- Do not remove or modify extensions that are marked as Security relevant in the folder JonDos of the bookmark toolbar. They are needed to provide the best possible anonymity.
- If possible, do not add more extensions. There are many extensions that "backdoor" your anonymity.
- If you would like to use the profile only, you should remove all extensions and search plugins from the Firefox installation directory beforehand.
- Do not use "cleaning tools", like Ccleaner or Steganos' InternetSpurenVernichter, in addition to JonDoFox. Otherwise, JonDoFox might get damaged. Our profile is deleting the relevant surfing traces and data by itself properly during browser shutdown.
