Der wissenschaftliche Vorläufer der Firma JonDos GmbH, das AN.ON-Projekt, wurde in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Unabhängigen Landeszentrum für Datenschutz Schleswig-Holstein durchgeführt und von der DFG und dem Bundeswirtschaftsministerium gefördert. Die technische Leitung hatten die Technische Universität Dresden und die Universität Regensburg, JAP-Team genannt.
