Due to failure in the Montreal data center, the Fondue-Uranus-SecureInternet7 mix proxy cascade was offline from Thursday last week to yesterday. After resolving the Montreal issue, the cascade is back in services again.

As browser vendors have implemented so-called private browsing modes, people might think that separate anonymity and/or privay enhancing software is not needed at all. But recent research has shown that this assumption is wrong. There exist many data leaks be it in the browser itelf or in installable extensions.

currently all mix-servers located in our New York datacenter are down. The datacenter administration give us the following info.

Datacenter New York:
Unfortunately we have had a power transformer explode at our facility. This has resulted in the complete loss of power not just at our facility but for the entire building. Con Edison and our electricians are working diligently to resolve this situation. We expect power restored and to be fully back online within the next few hours. We greatly apologize for this inconvenience.

Maintenance work is scheduled for Mix Rousseau on sunday, the 1st of August, between 11 PM and 9 AM.

The following cascades may be affected:
